Make-Up Work
Make-up work is the student’s responsibility. Make up assignments, tests, and other educational tasks will provide the student 100% credit if made up within a five (5) day make-up period following excused and unexcused absences. Students can obtain make-up work and assignments by checking the homework section on the board, the teacher’s wiki, and designated make up folders in the class. Students should also try to have a “buddy” in each class to contact for missed assignments and information. The wiki is updated weekly with daily lesson information (objectives, class assignments, homework).
Students should make arrangements with me to complete missed work as soon as they return to school. It is best for students to complete make-up work either before or after school. If students know they are going to be out ahead of time, or know they will be gone for a period of time, please let me know so I can explain and give them their make-up work before or after school prior to them leaving.
Re-teaching/Reassessing
Students who do not achieve 79% on a formal assessment and who put forth a thoughtful and conscious effort on the original assessment are permitted to retest. Students must retest within 10 days of the original assessment, and the highest possible score will be 79%.
